Its an antique , but if all your doing is talking on a trail run , I don't see anything wrong with it . No sense ponying up cash for bells and whistles you don't need if you already have a radio . A damp cloth will help for sure /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Yeah that's all I'm asking, will it reach my friends on trail and reach help if I have an emergency.

Give it a try, if it doesn't do it for you, you can always buy something better later on. No sence spending money on a different radio if the one you have will work for your needs. Just use a quality antenna like a K40, or a Wilson.
