Is this driveshaft toast??

Long story short, i got a driveshaft and slipyoke from a guy for $60, but one of the holes for the u-joint cap in the driveshaft is wallored out a bit, and the cap sorta spins a little bit freely with a small amount of play inside the hole. So is this shaft dead or what?? would it do any damage if i ran it for a small amount of time until i can get a new one?? thanks..

the guy i bought it from was a few states away, and $60 didnt seem bad for a yoke and shaft; but i guess i know why now...
