So looking at my 14 bolt I discovered a few things that surprised me.

The spindles are welded on? It this normal? It looks factory, but the only full float axles I have are fronts. If the are welded on do they have an inner spindle bearing? If so how to clean it? Pack it etc? I have the housing sand blasted and unfortunately there is sand every where.

Also where the axles tubes go into the housing one has only a 1.8 of machined smooth surface showing out side the housing, the other almost a 1/2" Are the axle tube identical or is one supposed to be longer? This 14 bolt is from a van.

Thanks

Im pretty sure that they are pressed into the housing and then welded on. Either way they are not exaclty removeable. Some people can do it but it depends on your skill level.

No inner spindle bearing, dont need it on these type of axles as the axle doesnt "float" inside the spindle, it is held stationary because it is bolted into the hub.

Also, one tube is longer than the other. Axles are different lengths as well.

welded on .

no bearing on rear full float like front spindles only bearings are in hub's

if blasted and open then flush the crap out of it and re assemble it.

Don't forget to weld the tubes to the center section while it's clean and apart. Just makes things so much easier.
