I feel like my 10 bolt is rolling on borrowed time after my LS swap and 35s... anyone in the southeast have a 6lug 14bsf? Preferably 4.10 or 4.56

I found one in the junkyard awhile back. Came off of a 3/4 ton suburban so perches were sitting correctly. I then went and found a newer SF14 bolt and took the drums, backing plates and axle shafts (with 6 lug).

Pulled out the 8 lug shafts and backing plate, had a 1/2" spacer made for smaller backing plate and all done. 6 Lug SF14 Bolt that bolted right up!

Gears were 4.10's so also took front axle and swapped parts too.

You have quite the junkyards in your area! I'm trying to gather parts to put together a 6 lug 14bsf with an earlier housing. Thanks for the info

I found a 14bsf today in a 80s 2wd c20, it should all bolt up in my blazer correct? Then all I'll need is some 6 lug axles and back in plates?

It may be a 5 lug though for 2wd, not positive. I stuck with the later models so that my front axle shafts from my 89' fit into the 3/4 ton front axles. I think around 87 or 88 they went to a 30 spline setup. I don't know about the rears in the older models.

Irish also did the same thing and helped me through it.

Mine is an 82 8 lug housing. With 1990 new body style 6 lug shafts. Just an fyi.

This one is 8 lug. I'm debating on finding 6 lug shafts (which is close to impossible around here) or take the 8 lug shafts to my machinist and have them welded and redrilled...

You could do that. Or order some new shafts.

To be honest, they really aren't that pricey, I had looked into them when I was about to do mine.
