Issues!

Yep, in fuse block under the dash on the right side of fuse block. Found out that it's called a Control Fuel Meter Selector. No one has it, dealer doesn't carry anymore and one sight I found that actually matched the part number says it's OBSOLETE and I can't order it cuz there's no price. Any ideas?

I can guaranty that someone here would have a good used one on the site if you can post up pics and maybe start a thread in the wanted section.

I found one!!! Actually 75 of them. The site is vpartsinc.com
I'm ordering 2 just in case :) I will post back when delivered and installed

Well, the parts showed up yesterday. Installed one and keeping the other just in case :)
Drove to work this morning with fingers crossed cuz I had a tank that was low and was going to have to switch over to the other tank. It worked!

NOW WHAT?! I did a tune up and oil change yesterday. Truck started right up, actually surprised me. Let it run, all sounded really good. Went to dinner and when I got home I went to move the truck and it was deader than a hammer!!!
I checked my choke switch and it was off, thought I may have left ignition keyed on. So I jumped it and parked it. Had to jump it again this morning, what gives? Also once I got it running and warmed up I was driving to work and all the sudden it started sputtering and running like crap! I'm at a loss I have no more ideas. HELP PLEASE!

I've been thinking it was the alternator, it's been whining a lot during acceleration. I've been thinking a bearing was going out. Plus I had a belt break last week after some smoke, maybe the pulley? What would cause the sputtering though? Thanks for the heads up btw

Sputtering from too low of voltage available for the ignition to fire the plugs efficiently.

I am still curious as to what the fuel switch relay or whatever you replaced is. Can you put pictures of it up or give us the link to where you ordered it from.

The sputtering was probably caused by the battery voltage getting so low the spark quit firing.
If the alternator is not doing its job, then you are putting a fast surface charge on the battery when you jump it, and that is just enough power to run the ignition for a few miles.

When it starts sputtering, turn the headlights on. If the engine dies, then that is probably the problem.

Dang it, did not see the extra page of replies.
I thought Bradshawtech got in there quick, then saw he was 2 hours ahead of me with that post.

Well lucky for me I had an extra alternator in storage. Pulled old one, put stored one on (not new). Ran truck for a while, turned it off and went and ate supper. Went back out and it started right up. Went out this morning, said a lil prayer and we have liftoff! I'm going to take the other alternator in and have it rebuilt, if it's cheaper than a new one. Always good to have extra parts. As for the Control Fuel Tank Meter Selector, the web site is vpartsinc.com and I will try to put up some pics when I get home
Thanks for all the help y'all
