It may take a little longer, but you have a much more focused target audience in the diesel forum. I could understand if you weren't a paid member, but seeing as you have the membership I'd be happier seeing you post diesel questions in the correct forum.

New non members with diesel questions I try and help, hoping that they will see the value here and join up...then begin posting in the diesel forum.

my lincoln tech heavy truck manual only lists the 6.2L for chevy/gm from 77-87 models.

the isusu motors are as follows
4BD1-T 235.2 ci per cyl
6BD1-T 353 ci per cyl
6SA1-T 513.0 ci per cyl

hope this helps some. others will know better.

lol i am talking about the gmc 4500 model thats a snub nose and looks almost identical to the isuzu truck. and i have no idea what year that came out. also 353 ci per cylinder? thats a really big cid for a four banger x'sing that by 4.... :dunno:

its just what the book says. firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4

i might be able to help if you were more specific. i just have this book of info and am trying to lend a hand. i admit i don't know much about these types of trucks.

A box truck motor???

I've seen 6 cylinder inline Isuzu motors in those "box" trucks with the huge windsheild and a "cab over" design shoehorned into a 1974 GMC 3500 2wd dually for use as a mobile home hauler...they used the Isuzu 5 speed tranny too..it all fit in with a minimum of hassles, and gave 16-20 mpg on towing runs to IN from MA where the guys trailer dealership was--sorry,I dont know what size cubic inch it was,or any specs..only Isuzu 4 cyl. diesel I have seen were in chevettes, and Isuzu "PUP" pickups...

[hyjack]What year did you atend and where? I went to the West Des Moines campus in the fall of 90' to the spring of 91'. Never seen anyone else online that attended.

i cannot for the life of me remember when i am not busy at work to check the 4500 gmc they have. i have to lift the cab and see if there is an info tag. but the trick is getting time when the truck is in lol i get quite busy. and the truck is gone a lot. go figure eh?

but anyway... i just thought they were 4 cyls. :dunno: and the truck at work is an auto.

I did not go to Lincholn Tech. I bought the manual at half price books for 6 bucks.

here are the #'s i gopt off the actual tag on the valve cover. 317 cid 190hp (its turbo) and model - 4hk1tc

and i did trace lines from the injection pumpo all the way up to the injectors.. and there are only four injectors... and i have never seen a system run 4 injectors with 6 cyl ;)

saw one of the contractors that i see opn a regular basis today. he has a 99 gmc (isuzu) w3500 box with a 4cyl diesel. and the w4500 flat dump bed that we have in the yard at work is a 2005 with the 4 cyl... so i know they make them. now if only i could find info on them :(
