Its a start. Busted nuckles, and dirt in my eyes

yes, don't waste your time at least start with 3/4 ton stuff, and look for a d60 later.

Is the leaf spring perch width the same on the 88-98GM style 14bolt rear ends? I can get one of those for next to nothing. Thanks.

i don't think it is. find a 14bff out of a 3/4 ton, there cheap and plenty full.73-80 or so. it'll bolt right in.

Eh, a cutting torch and a welder and anything can fit.

My father is looking for a while donor truck for me now in NC. I figure i may as well find a truck w/ the 14b/d60 and np205 in it, bring it to NY and sell the solid body panels off it and make my money back, not may nice ones left in Upstate NY, not that have beed driven in the winter that is. He hs a diesel in a 94 or something, i thought maybe it had a 14bolt rear, but its just a 1/2 ton, the search continues. Maybe he can find me a crew cab, then i can save the frame and body for a slammed 2wd, been wanting one of those lately. Anyone know of and crew cabs in the southern North Carolina area for cheap?

what years of 1 ton Gm trucks came with D60 front axles, SRW or DRW, doesnt matter. I just need a refrence to go from as i am shopping for a truck that is 13hrs away thru someone. I am also gonna have hin look for the parts at one of the junkyards he does business with. Thanks.

Any 1-ton truck in our body style 77-91 should have the D60 front you want. Obviously you want a non-dually truck for direct bolt in.

but if u can only find a DRW D60 then u can buy the single wheel hubs from GM (napa or any parts store that i no of doesnt sell them) and it comes out to $318 for the both hubs/rotors/studs all pressed together. thats the only change u have to make to put it to a SRW D60.

Excelent, thanks guys, i appreciate it. He has found a couple trucks, but niether have the d60 front end i'de like, they are 3/4 ton trucks. The prices are good, i just dont want to still have to look for an entire axle after i haul a truck 13hrs, haha.
