It's been a couple of months since I last posted any progress pics but lately things have been moving along nicely. This is my 70 K5 I bought a couple of years ago off of evil bay without a motor. Here's where I'm at right now.

Frame off, sandblasted tub and frame. Replaced both inner and outer rockers and floor pans. Rocker boxes were in good shape. Frame, engine bay and tub are rhino lined.

3/4 ton running gear out of a 72 Cheyenne super. Eaton rear with factory locker and 44 front both with 4.10's

H2 rims and 315/75/17 Mickey Thompson MTZ's. Warn premium hubs.

56's in the rear with overload leaf and zero rate with ORD shackle flip. 4 inch TC in the front with zero rate.

Engine is a 406 sbc with vortec heads, comp XE268 cam, and weiand stealth intake. Working on a TBI system as we speak still collecting parts. 37 gallon Northwest Metal works gas tank.

Rear disc brake conversion with plans for K30 upgaded MC.

And the most recent addition SM465 with 205 transfer case.

All the interior panels have been painted, I'm going to have the exterior done after engine and tranny installed. The paint is Blazing copper metallic (Mazda color)

I hope to have the whole thing together and driveable by next spring...it's killing me to watch everyone driving their rigs and not being able to drive mine!

Thanks for the update, looks awesome!

What's the plans for it?
Driver/weekend warrior kinda build?

I really like your plan and it sure looks like some great progress. All that hard work is going to be well worth it when you turn the key for the first time and drive out topless!

Thanks guys....We live less than an hour from the Cascades and during the summer we spend a lot of time up in the mountains. I wanted the Blazer to be dependable enough to drive every day if needed but able to handle moderate trails as well. I was tempted to make it a crawler, but being a first gen I was hoping to keep it close to original. Believe me I thought about swapping in a 60 in the front and cutting the fenders.....but I'm happy with the way it's turning out.

I had originally thought I wanted a crawler with a doubler, dana 60, cut fenders etc. But realistically I won't be doing rocks too much and I wanted to keep it close to original to keep the resale value if I ever sell it.

 once they go to hard core wheeler status...end of story.

Any more pics for us?

Don't have any more exiciting pics right now...this week I've been draining and replacing all the oil in the tranny and transfer case. Putting in new gaskets and seals and painting it all. I just ordered a new clutch assembly and hope to have it mated up to the engine by the end of the month. But here are some pics of my daily driver I just cleaned up and put away for winter. Enjoy!

Hmmmmmmm, wonder what that Camino would look like with a 6" lift, D60's, 37 inch Swampers or IROKs and a real flexy suspension. lol. Oh yea, once you start, end of story.
But there are some of us who always wonder.

Got some more stuff done this weekend. Replaced all the gaskets and seals in the tranny and the transfer case. Painted everything and just waiting for the new flywheel and clutch kit before I put everything in. I had to grind down the side of the transfer case so I could use the factory bracket to hold the case. The newer case didn't have the holes drilled and tapped so I'll have to do that. Anyone happen to know the size. The bracket holes look huge....9/16" or so.
