This is a story of how you get a dana 60 for your truck while in college and pretty damn broke. I bought a Cab Chassis one ton from a friend of mine for 500bucks, long story short, sold, scraped all i could, and even with all the parts i bought, including cross over, new single wheel hubs, kingpin rebuild i came out on top with a Dana 60 that has cross over 4:56gears, spicer locking hubs, brakes and everything you see for 530, including the cost of the the truck/axle! I still get to sell my current D44 with 4:56gears as well. Was pretty proud of how i pulled it off! Thot i'd share it with you guys, and yes, i know the tierods a lil bent.. gonna take care of that too!

Here is the truck it came from..

looking good man. that really is bent. had one bend like that when i hit a ford probe and my diff. was on his hood.
i just hooked it to a tree with a chain and pulled it out til it looked bout straight. my blazer drove ten times better after that then when i got it. not suggesting you do this but it did save me some money :D

i know where a 1 ton DRW cherry picker is......... still thinkin about asking the guy how much he wants for it...... its rusty as hell and the hood is bend like a mo fo with a ratchet strap holding it down lol i alt to tell him ill just trade him axles b/c mine will bolt up under his lol that would be funny as hell right there..... but yeah great find man

Yep, I learned the same lesson myself. You can really pay for projects if you can get a deal on a complete vehicle, take what you need, and part out the rest.
