yeah tried that.. frozed solid.. *sighs* i need to be more specific next time. bearings, nut, etc is gone in the hub. drum has been solid for a long time. it was ok but not anymore. the adjuster in back of the plate is solid. i used hammer to try to pound it up or down it wont move. i pb blasted it.. maybe it'll break free. but i doubt it. any easier way to yank everything off? since it will have everything new for the brakes..

Ok look around on the backing plate and find the 2 lil pins that hold the shoes on and punch those out and you should be able to pull it all out

Get a sledghammer and be done!!!!
:doah: i have already done that. but will pick up bigger sledge hammer tmrw at my dads garage.. and ofc torch.. just in case

knock the studs through the hub and into the drum. then you can pull the hub out. You will need to soak it really good but they will come out. Then you are only fighting the drum and not the back bearing in the hub also.

Like was said before I would unbolt the wheel cylinder and punch through the pins that hold the shoes. Then beat the ever living snot out of it.

I have had to do this many times on a FF axle, in fact just the other day on a 92 that sat for 5 years.

As stated above push the studs into the drum and remove the bearing hub.
Use a 3/4" socket and ext to remove the 4bolts holding the backing plate to the flange thru the hub hole.

Remove whole brake assembly with 1 well placed swing of a hammer, toss assembly to the ground while mumbling FU.

DONE

if all of that stuff gave you problems. make sure the axle seal area is still good. i have seen them rust up real bad and never hold a good seal again. thay do make speedy sleave for them.
