well thats so and so.... now my starter broke down whit smoke and all... and the i discovered that you can´t get a new starter or rebuild parts for the starter to a 6.2 L diesel but i can get a starter fore a 6.5 L diesel... so now my question is can i mount a starter on my 6.2 ???

claus

owner of an OLD blazer... one of 3 in denmark.....

According to the guys in the Diesel forumThe 6.5 starter should work. Many there swap in the 6.5 starter in their 6.2 engines because the 6.5 starter has more cranking power.
Maby one of the diesel guys will reply with more info for you.

BTW Welcome!

Yes the 6.5 starter, which should be the 28MT gear reduction unit, will bolt up no problem. I run one of those on my 6.2 and it cranks very nice! The only thing you'll have to do is find another starter brace for the end of the starter to the block to support it.

If there is a GM dealership there they may have that brace.

Hello Claus, I can't believe I finally found another dane here:p: :D . I am sure driving a diesel is the only way somebody can afford to drive a Blazer in Denmark with the insane fuel prices.

Hej Claus, hvordan gaar det i Danmark. Jeg bor I Mexico og har en 82 Blazer og en Chevy Pick-up fra 84.

Held og lykke.
