So my daily driver is a TDI VW Jetta, and ive been playing with new driving styles and routes to work. Thought yall would get a kick out of my last fill up.

the funny part is above, but for the curious that was 50.2 mpg.

you done the timming belt yet ?

guy i was chattin with yesterday just lossed his and had to get a new head. spanked the valves.

he got it used tho and hadnt got to changing it yet and it blew before he did it.

and he has a trailer hitch and pulls 3 trials bikes on the back and still gets 34-36 mpg on highway.

yup, that was one of the selling points of the car when i bought it. timing belt was done at 110,000 miles (verified through carfax and a call to the repair shop). got just shy of 150,000 miles on it now, so i figure im safe for another 30-40k on it till it needs to be done again. Hopefully the truck is fixed and reliable by that point so i can try to do it myself instead of paying for it. save me a chunk o change. but with work i cant afford to take the jetta appart if i dont have something else to drive.
