It\'s not a blazer, but still cool: Anyone know about this truck?

Does anyone know more about the Dodge truck in the "best used truck for your buck" article in the most recent issue of Fourwheeler? It is a heavily-modfied mid-70s truck, all army green, with a serious grille guard. I am trying to find better pics than the one in the mag so I can try to duplicate the guard as best I can. Would appreciate any info. Thanks.

I've seen that truck in another mag and it said that they will be doing a feature about it, forgot what mag though.

I can't remember the guys name but he's been around forever and helped out with the TTC stuff a few years ago. His truck was the one they had to tow up the hill. I think they did a feature on it a longggggg time ago and I never read anything about a new one. It has a 500 or 600 horse Hemi under the hood, Dana 60's and everything else.

Its a shame those D60's are stuck under a Dodge.

If I think you are talking about that one truck that was painted camo, and was in the TTC contest, that guys name was Soni Honegger. He is also the guy who builds the Scorpion rock crawlers.

Thats right K30...thats the name. I remember now. He was in the competition and now he just helps out with it. I did NOT know about him doing the Scorpion things though.

If its the truck I think it is, its a 76 Ramcharger. Dec '92 Four Wheeler. Feature article and cover shot.

I don't think it is a Ramcharger, as it has a bed on the back, with a closed cab (unless he rebodied it). It looks more like a regular pickup truck, with a fabricated bed on the back that resembles the bed of a military 6x6.

Yep, Honegger has been building these Scorpions for some time now. He even entered one in the TTC, but it was a customers ride, not his. He built it for the guy. Very stout and flexy rides!!! They have been compared side by side to the Sniper. Cant tell you who is the best or would win in a show down!!!

II dont know if its a modified charger body or a PU cab but it was on a Charger frame (kinda) and It was listed as a Charger.

I cant remember the details about the truck, but do remember it being listed as a Ram Charger. I think he may have just grafted a regular cab onto the RC chassis. Do you know what issue this truck is in? I have all my magazines in storage tote bins and would have no clue where to start looking!

I'll scan the pic I have and put it up tomorrow. Maybe that will jog some memories.

Yep, that's the one. Is there a good pic of the front in that issue? If so, would you be willing to scan it at high resolution and email it to me? I would be most appreciative. The only one I have is kinda fuzzy. It is on p35 of the latest issue, BTW.

Re: It\'s not a blazer, but still cool: Anyone know about this truck?

Ok, I managed to verify through various sources that it is the "War Wagon", and was at least until recently owned by Soni Honneger (he had it up for sale sometime last year). does anyone have a working email address for him or his "Tactical Vehicles" company? The one on their website doesn't work, and the phone number rings at some guys answering machine (don't know if he is the company or what, no indication in the message). Would appreciate any help. Alternatively, Cavalry, could you find a decent pic of the front of that thing in the mag you scanned and scan it in for me? I would be most grateful. If you could email it to me that would be even better.

Re: It\'s not a blazer, but still cool: Anyone know about this truck?

Well, still trying to find pics of this thing. For the record, I plan to do something similar with a military Blazer, which is why I posted about this truck even though it ain't a blazer. I won't do the funky bed like Soni did because I need to be able to carry more than 2 people, but I want ideas for other things to do. See my profile for a description of what it should eventually look like. Also, I am still trying to get a working email for Soni to see if I can get more details from him, so if anyone has a way of contacting him, I would be most appreciative if you could help me out.
