a little lower and the truck will fit in the garage. I have plans to lower the suspension, move the front axle forward and remove the body lift. then it will fit with the 44's. It was not even close when it had a 3" body lift and a roll bar.

now I just have to get an I-beam to hold the garage roof up so that I can remove the center post. If I can fit it in the garage I can cut the trucks roof off and tube it out. right now the roof keeps the dash dry.

Why not just let some air out of the tires?:dunno: DEE DEE DEE:doah:

3 reasons. #1. 16.5's. #2 they already are at 8 psi. #3 plus I want to unload it from the trailer and put it in the garage. it wasn't about getting it in to do a certain job. I have a set of 225/75R16 that I can put on it to lower it down. then it would fit, but I would have to swap tires before and after every trail ride.

I posted this more for fun then anything. :D the garage has been slow and everyone likes looking at pictures.

I had a similar idea about putting my truck in the garage. Mine will fit, but the problem I had was that it konked-out about 15 feet from the door (electrical) and I haven't been able to find the problem yet.... No WAY I'm going to be able to push it in there either.

So I just pulled a tarp over it, and there it sits. The new neighbors must hate me already!!!

You could always dig a couple trenches for the front tires just far enough back to get the windshield past the door opening..... :D

Man, I must have a short garage, my Jimmy will barely fit and that's just with 3" lift and 33's!:doah:You have one of the first truck builds that I have seen dictated by garage door height!:D

don't think I didn't already think about that. I just did a bunch of dirt moving. you can see all the freshly exposed dirt in front of the truck. there used to be a large pile of dirt at the corner of the garage from when they cut the driveway in 25 years ago. I had a skidsteer so digging down would not have been hard.

I ended up just making everything drain better. it used to be that when it rained hard the water would run into the garage. now that the floor stays dry I feel like I should be able to work in there. :D

isn't that how everyone decides how big to go? :D

to the old guys reading this, remember when bigger was better? :doah: man was everybody wrong. now I get excited by seeing trucks like Kert's from DIY4X. 44's and 4" of lift, thats sexy.

Yeah tell me bout it. Oh i forgot to tell you im completely redoing the blazer! Just got a 72 K5 from a guy on here. Well i didnt pick it up yet but its a done deal. Guess im gona swap the 72 body onto my 79 frame. it has the 8" lift on. i would love to lower that, but i really dont wana trim that sweet looking body. Not sure what im gona do yet. You'll have to come up and checkout the shop some weekend once i get the 72 down. im not getting it till the end of aug.

I fell yer pain man!

Mine fits in the garage but with about 5" of height to spare and maybe 6" on both sides at the door. I'm sort of handicapped by that so I can't really lift it or put monster tires on it. I'm tempted by some Michelin 38's but I'm worried that it won't fit after I put them on and then discover I need a couple inches of lift in order to not trim the hell out of it.

Whoever thought a garage with 7' tall doors was tall enough? It's also not damn deep enough as a modern extended cab shortbed Chevy pickup wouldn't fit without a bumper being removed! A bone stock Super Duty 4x4 is too tall! Big Ugly barely fits!

I already told the wife the first house we build will have at least 8' tall doors (at the very least) that are wide enough for a dually to go through with the garage deep enough for at least a foot around each end of the longest pickup currently available (Dodge Ram Megacab?).

The garage I keep my trucks in if I drive them in there is about a half inch of cab clearance but if I back them in I can get about 3. Thank god dad has a 10 foot door on our big garage.

My friend built what I want. his garage has 4 doors along the front. 10 foot wide by 12 foot tall. he also has one on the back lined up with the last door on the front so that he can drive through. the building is 60x30 and he filled it as soon as it was done. :doah: doesn't matter how big you make them.

Don't worry, that's just going to be the garage. After the garage will come a pole barn...at least 30x40...at least...
