I don't know if it happened recently when I downloaded the latest iTunes update, but for some reason iTunes will not see any of my Apple Lossless songs anymore... I just get the exclamation point icon next to those songs. BTW -> If I use the "Browse" function, I can show iTunes where the file is and it re-establishes the link to it. HOWEVER, I don't want to have to do that 7,999 more times!!!
What's weird is that they are in the same directory as all my AAC (compressed) and Apple Protected AAC files....
I keep two copies of every CD-based song in my library....one that is in an AAC format (small, fits on the iPod) and one version that is Lossless, so that I've got a perfect bit-for-bit copy of the original CD as well.
When I sync the iPod, I only do the AAC versions and I can get my entire 8000 song library into about 35GB of space. The "lossless" stuff takes up about 190GB, so there's no chance of putting those versions on the iPod.
Anyone else seeing weird behavior??? I also lost some files out of a few select playlists..... the songs are still in my library, they just disappeared from the playlists I'd assigned them to.
