I don't know if it happened recently when I downloaded the latest iTunes update, but for some reason iTunes will not see any of my Apple Lossless songs anymore... I just get the exclamation point icon next to those songs. BTW -> If I use the "Browse" function, I can show iTunes where the file is and it re-establishes the link to it. HOWEVER, I don't want to have to do that 7,999 more times!!! :yikes:

What's weird is that they are in the same directory as all my AAC (compressed) and Apple Protected AAC files....

I keep two copies of every CD-based song in my library....one that is in an AAC format (small, fits on the iPod) and one version that is Lossless, so that I've got a perfect bit-for-bit copy of the original CD as well.

When I sync the iPod, I only do the AAC versions and I can get my entire 8000 song library into about 35GB of space. The "lossless" stuff takes up about 190GB, so there's no chance of putting those versions on the iPod.

Anyone else seeing weird behavior??? I also lost some files out of a few select playlists..... the songs are still in my library, they just disappeared from the playlists I'd assigned them to.

:usaflag:

I really should get up to speed on the iPod stuff one of these days. Sorry Greg, wish I could help ya.

I had this problem with about 80 of my songs. It came about when I moved them from a shared file to my song album in "My Documents". I had to go through and "show" iTunes where they all were.

yeah iTunes has been trippin' out on me as well... I just got my new laptop for college and transfered a bunch of stuff from the tower in my room yesterday and it was giving me issues...

Do a search on google...you're not alone!

I was having burning problems as well...aparently one of the bugs in the new version of iTunes is that it won't burn a playlist if the name of the playlist has an apostrophe in it [ ' ] which is weird...anyways I'd hit up google b/c like I said you're not alone...
