So now I've seen pics of TWO different so called j- code intakes-

Both of them without EGR's of course. One has a divider, and the other is just one big hole. The one on my pickup is a large hole. Im looking to hopefully pickup another one for my *cross fingers* diesel burb.

So whats the scoop? Which is better?

Open hole is better, although you can make the divided one open with a die grinder. I port matched my divided 'J' code intake and knife edged the divider as well as polished up the whole area with a small blending wheel.

I think even a 'C' code intake could be made a lot better with a die grinder...

Welp, looks like im gonna have to go a searching for a J-code. this burb has that egr sucker in there! Too bad i cant find that at walmart!

I got the completely open version that was origionally on a hummer off of E-bay for $40.00

It seems like theres always one on there, and as I understand it the intake is pretty much what seperates a C code engine from a J code.
