There will be a memorial service for Jason Payne Saturday morning of Blazer Bash on the Goldbar Rim trail at the first obstacle. There will be trail runs departing after the memorial service.
Jason's Parents and other family members will be attending and plan to spread his ashes during the memorial service.

Time for the memorial service is 8:30. Driving time from Moab should be around 1 hr for the average guys.

The Service is open to all that would like to attend. If you are going to attend please RSVP in this thread so we can plan for parking etc. at the memorial site.

Thanks Guys

The wife and I will be there in 1 rig.

For those running Metal Masher Saturday, I'm planning to lead that trail run and we will depart for the trail after the memorial service. You can leave with me from there or meet us at the trailhead.

Britney and I will be there for sure.....

I have two friends who will be coming to the bash with me. They might be there also. I will have to ask them.

I am leading the Pritchett Canyon group on Saturday so I will be leaving for there after the memorial service.

The Pritchett group will most likely meet at the trail head.

I'll be there and will be one of the trail leaders to get us through the rest of the run in case we have a long day into the night so I can light up the way out. Still no co-pilot at the moment so I should have a open seat to bring someone in.

Some how I have feeling there's more guys than have posted that will be going. :dunno:

I'll be there with Mike & Fred. Probably be a good idea to plan for unexpected arrivals.

I want to come down. Need to know the time for the service, but I am as of now planning on coming down.

Time in original post.

If you are planning to attend please post up here guys. It will help us plan for the memorial as well as the trail runs for those that will not be attending.

i didn't really know him , but I will be there to show support of our brother and the solidarity that exists here .

I am running the Spyder/Spike/GBrim trails that day . I just need to know if we are running that trail backwards or forwards that day .

Perhaps the trail leaders need a new post to reflect the changes made to the trail runs in lieu of the memorial .

Here is what I know.

Not final but should be close.

The Golden spike run will leave as planned for the people on that run that are not attending the memorial.
The metal masher run will most likely meet after the memorial and depart sometime around 11:00 to 12:00

The Fin's and things run will most likely become self guided and therfore should leave on schedule or after the memorial which ever.

Those that want to run Pritchett can choose to either start on schedule or wait for me and start sometime around 11:00 to 12:00. If the run starts without us the small group of us from the memorial service will catch up.

Those that want to do the memorial service but are also wanting to do the Poisen spider run can choose to go out, around and come back in OR do the Spike run backwards.
There is also talk of going to the Crack and back out the same way from Goldbar rim.

I know this is very vague but we were trying to figure out how many will be at the memorial so we could cross reference them to their runs to make better plans.

We will probably just need to do a Meeting at the BBQ to finalize plans.

Perhaps I should stay with the main group and be of help to those running the trail first . I want to show my support to my CK5 family , and would be better suited to do that as another winch and strong radio with some experience on some of those trails .

Let's just let it sit and try to get a better handle on things at the BBQ.

We have two trail leaders and another perticipant that will be a good waist gunner for main group already.

If you want to go to the memorial then you should go.

A group of us will leave from the memorial run for Metal Masher. Anyone running MM that choses not to attend the memorial, can wait for us or start the trail themselves.

Pauly,
I'm planning to lead a group from the memorial at the start of Gold bar to Spike and down Poison spider. JMS will be running the trail the other way and not attending so the choice is up to you but my run will go and we'll meet somewhere in the middle. It might be a late night.
