anyone tried any of the lesser expensive exhaust parts from jc whitney?? im planning a full exhaust system from manifolds back and im trying to keep it on the cheap. Not so cheap that it needs to be replaced after a few years.. yes i understand that you get what you pay for, but im looking for first hand experiences, good or bad. thanks

What parts exactly are you looking at, and what are they going on?

Here is pretty much what I've got on both Burbs. One with glasspacks and one with turbo mufflers. The glasspack setup has been on for over 4 years now and the turbos for 3 years. Only issue was the hangers and clamps rusting out. And not so bad they fell apart, just bad enough that if I have to remove them, gotta cut'em. Other than that all the tubes and the glasspacks/mufflers have held up.

'Course I've cut them down so the Burb with glasspacks exit out under the truck right behind the t-case and the Burb with turbos has them coming out in front of the rear wheels instead of behind.

Here is the exhaust Ive had on mine for the past 3 or 4 years and still in good shape and cheap http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-89003/ , put some glass packs on and you will have less than $200 in the whole system.

I have this same system on mine with turbos...it still seems fine after a few years...i did have to get a muffler shop bend the tailpipe slightly on one side to match the other.

thanks duntz.. looks like a good option. I haven't worked out exactly what im putting on, but its going on an 88 k5, tbi 350.

There's a company that makes flowmaster knock offs for $30 a piece.

AP exhaust products VX series mufflers.

Those will sound 100% better than glasspacks and cost the same, and last longer no doubt.
