Im going to break down finally and buy a bender in the next week or so, I think I have decided on a JD2, but my question, is it worth the extra $$ for the model 32 over the model 3 ?
I went with the model 32 for a couple reasons and glad I did. The first is that the model 3 does not have an anti-spring back mechanism built into the bender. The second it that the model 32 is built heavier duty. While the model 3 will bend 2" .120 wall its the max for that bender and I personally dot like to push my equipment to the max as they last longer if they are overbuilt versus under built. If in the future you want to bend .250 wall or 2.5" tube you have that option. I also went with the swag off-road hydraulic kit for my model 32 and am very happy with its performance.
I just got mine delivered last week and I went with a 32 for the same reason at K5-CJ5, I don't want to operate it at the limit. In the long run, I figure I will have this thing for 10+ years so an extra 100 bucks over 10 years is nothing.
I did end up buying the modal 32 and a 180* die in 1 3/4" , there are some pics in my K30 build thread, great piece of equipment and works like a champ
JD2 is just down the road from me and I have been in their shop and have gotten products demos and they look like awesome machines! I really like their new Model 53 they have now.
I just discovered the Model 52 & 53 a couple weeks ago. If business goes the way it looks it might for me, I will be purchasing the Model 53. So far they have been great to talk with.
