Well... I finsihed the stand today and painted it and now Im ready to learn the fine art of bending... one thing I know.. you can break things if you aren't careful... really quickly and at great cost,, so Im going to step gingerly while I learn the tricks of the trade....

One of my projects is to build a scooter this summer... a cushman repro on steroids.. with a vanguard 24 or 31 hp engine..comet drive...
I would like to build the frame out of stainless.... and the sheetmetal out of stainless or aluminum... stainless is spendy but when you factor no painting it evens out...
obviously I need to learn to bend before burning up 300 bucks in stainless.. I posted up an example of what Im interested in building

comments welcome on benders or scooters

Nice, cam. I can say I'm jealous. I would love a bender, I always wanted to build a Harley frame and build a sweet chopper, but that's so cliche now, I'm not as into it as I used to be. I'd love to be able to cage my Samurai, Toyota and K5, though.

Im just finishing up my frame jig.. I used ron covells frame jig design thats all over the interent... it was super easy and is flexible enough to build a minibike to a v8 trike frame.. from zero to 8 feet long... I built it for about 200 dollars using some store bought stuff I couldnt do (adjustable frame neck bushings...some trick adjusting handles)... I still have a little machining and then Ill post up...
too bad youre so far away or we could play benderman

as posted ...hydro... and the wheels also lock... and its about 400 pounds with dies... it doesnt like to move

very cool cam, have fun with it. cool project to start with too.

How do you like this bender? How slow is the hand pump on it? I have been thinking about getting the ratchet version but not sure how well it would do.
