Well I don't know where else to turn or what to try:confused:. I've got a 1980 jeep cj-7 with the 151 inline 4. It keeps blowing steam out of the radiator overflow line. Even after a new water pump and a new radiator cap. It does not have a clutch fan and the radiator is in good shape. And it's doing this even driving 4-8 miles in 50 degree weather. Anyone have any ideas?:dunno:

blown headgasket? or maybe the thermostat is stuck.

seen a few of the 4 and 6 cyl with head gaskets poped.

stop by a local parts store and ask for a block test kit that goes on radiator . this will let you test for bad gasket or cracked head/block.

Blown head gasket? But there isn't any water in the oil and it runs perfecty fine. Even passed California's Nazi smog for an 80. But I'll look into it, thanks

I wouldn't think it would have one since it doesn't have a clutched fan?[/quo
Fan doesn't matter, you should have a Thermostat. To regulate coolant movement so it constantly cycles the coolant as needed to keep a somewhat steady reading on the temp-gauge.

Duh lol I was thinkin of something else yeah I think that's the next to replace. Should only be 10$

Should be one of the first to do... Cheap and usually pretty easy and more times than not the issue.

Good luck. Usually u can see if it is ok by checking it in a pot of water on stive and thermostat. Of course thats some work for a part usually had for under $15
