Wheres a good place to get some stock replacement front springs... Jeep is an all stock 80 CJ5..

My brother was trying to pull a tree and bent one of the front springs and broke a lockout...

Someone here (can't remember who) recently used these guys http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/leaf-springs for some K30 springs and had good stuff to say. Their prices seem good so I saved the link.

Of course now could be a good time to upgrade to YJ springs for a better ride or at least a shackle reversal for less CJ bump steer ........just sayin :D

How hard is the Yj spring mod.... Might be worth looking into... Any good writeups on the shackle reversal.... He dont drive it that often... Usally hauls it to drive around when they go camping..

The YJ springs are just a wider spring, 1/2 or 1" I forget, but are considered to ride much nicer then CJ springs. The shackle reversal, I believe there are kits out there, maybe even to include the YJ swap at the same time. Check out Ruffstuff, blue torch fab, or even 4wheel hardware to name a few. I'll see if I can find some links I had saved.

Here's one kit for YJ springs. http://www.mountainoffroad.com/_e/S...kle_Reversal_with_YJ_Springs_2_1_2_7686_2.htm

Ill talk to him and see what he wants to do... The YJ springs and the shackle reversal would prob be cheaper than buying new stock springs... LOL

I'm running 6cylinder YJ springs under the front of my dads Willys wagon I've been building, they seem really nice, I think I paid less then $15 per pack at a local pick n pull.
