I have cash coming in Feb when I turn 18 from various bank accounts. That's why I'm trying to decide now what a good option would be.

And alot of you guys are right. The mileage in a cherokee won't be that much better. Not enough to be buying another rig.

I guess I'm gonna be keeping my truck or finding a car..which is very sad.

Man I hope you didn't come HERE thinking we were going to tell you to get the Heep! You should know this forum better than that. I am dissapointed! Keep what you got all the way!

Hmm .. I think i can give you a little insight into this idea. Well I acyually did the same thing you are considering when I was 17. I Was drivinga 76 blazer with a 375hp sb350,sm465 8' and 37 boggers. This was awesome to wheel but just wasnt working for me. I had built it when gas was cheap aroud 1.50 but after I turned 16 gas as we all know skyrockected. I got smart and for a while had buddys chip in for fuel but thart got old real quick.

I picked upa 95 4x4 cherroke witha blown motor in imacgulent condition for $1500:D . It was single moms car, and when it blew she just bought a new one. I figured a 4x4 with decent mileage that would be a fun lil wheeler. A few weeks later I picked up two more xj's from friends and teh junk yard for next to nothing. Well I got back together and drove it around for about 2 weeks and got sick of Stepping down into the damn thing, and stock I was barely getting 13mpg if I kept my foot out of it. Well I figured a lil lift would kill mpg's that much and would make it more liveable and hopefullly a lil nicer ride. I hated the stock suspension! So I started looking at lifts and saw that teh 7' wa sonly 200 more than the 3" I was looking at. So I got the 7" which sat in the shop until I had a time to throw it on. I had also got the sye kit and anew d shaft, but the dsahft didnt fit so had to deal with that. Then picked up a set of 33's m/t's for 300. So now I had a cool looking jeep atleast teh biggest in town, lol. BUt It also got about 10mpg on a good day. It was pretty capable for a moderate xj. BUt I also went threw 2 more motors (Inline 6 4.0's) Thrid was a new reman. and 2 tranny's and yes I had teh correct gears. So since I had te k5 still that was a dd again and this was a freaking project.

I ended up with over 7k in that damn thing and was a fun rig but still wasnt any bigger than my k5 on 37's geared and locked and got about the same mpg(10 or so).

This ended up as my stepsisters DD after I got busted having friends over when they were out of town...FYI make sure your buddy puts up teh vasline after hes done w/ his girl in your sisters bed...Well step sister... LOL and What sux was I was In another room with my girl and dint know about anything till I was confronted by my dad.. Try explaining that...

oK wELL Case and point the 7k I spent on the xj could of got me a n4500 or 480le and 1ton with a doubler. Damn I wish i would thought that one through A lil better....

Well my two cents and some ramblin ejony:wink1:
