Jimmy got wrecked today

he did work there,he was going to get fired that morning when he showed up due to being late again.when the boss fired him after he got back from the hospital i had to stay in his office so i wouldnt do anything stupid.
i am going to wait and see what the insurance company says but i think i ight need to talk to a lawyer on this one.i tried to ask the cops that did the report why he was able to drive away after being pulled over with no license but he would not give a straight answer and just kinda danced around the question.

i dont think i am going to try and fix it but there wont be much left of it when i get done.

If he got a ticket that requires his appearance in court, contact the District Attorney's Office and make sure they have your info. Start collecting similar for sale pics of blazers for price comparison.

Since the vehicle was not his it may go on the owner of the vehicle's insurance if the driver didn't have any. The owner of the vehicle bears responsibility also since he let an unlicensed driver operate his vehicle.

You have full coverage time to make your insurance work for you then they can deal with the other insurance company for re-imbursement.

if things don't start getting settle within a couple weeks then I would go for small claims case to get the ball rolling, including insurance companies, driver, owner of vehicle.

fwiw i'm a licensed claim adjuster in CT and was an auto adjuster for 2 years your laws may be different but the insurance company politics may not. as someone mentioned above dont mention the lift kit or major modifications to your insurance company (if it gets fixed rates tend to go up due to the mods) if you can wait for the other persons insurance company, if there is one, i would point out the upgrades since they do need to account for the increased value (companies will up the value for upgrades). Also when they assess value make sure they use fair market value making sure they compare it to ones similar to yours, some companies love using just the books to value a vehicle which can sometimes be hundreds to thousands of dollars off.

just to note if theres anyone has major mods sometimes its worth it to add a coverage endorsement on the vehicles to put an exact dollar amount on the modifications.

yea the cop gave us the number for the DA.the problem here is there are not really ant around here that dont have any rust much less for sale so it is going to be hard to prove the value.i have most or my recipts for everything but i dont know how much that will help.

unless they are receipts for maintenance items they help a lot. if you have a copier around make copies now to be able to give to the insurance company.

also i hate to say this but i've seen it happen unfortunately with a lot of companies the more you make them work the more likely your premium will go up. if the other person has (key word has)the money to cover it you're better off in small claims since it will cost you less in the long run.

If that happened to me I think I'd be alternating between really really bummed and all out pissed. For about a week. Or longer.

I'm not a big fan of our sue everyone society, but there is a legitimate claim that the police have some responsibility here. How can you just let a guy drive away who doesn't have a license, especially when you just busted him for speeding? :dunno: If his insurance doesn't pay up, I'd be looking in the PD's direction for reimbursement.

Good luck getting it fixed, or if that can't happen, finding a good replacement!

just got some good news.the guy who owns the one that hit mine did not have insurance on the vehicle, but i can file a claim through mine and have to pay the deductible and try to go after him for that.i think it might be time to call a lawyer

So your full coverage and un-insured motorist coverage should kick in. Yep far as I know just the deductible left.

Time for court system either as part of the ticket the driver received or small claims. Also time to go blazer shopping.

yesterday was a bad day for vehicles. a co-worker was hit when she went to lunch. the other lady driving was 24, no liscence, car wasnt hers, not on the vehicle insurance, and had a 3 year old and a 11 month old in the back seat NOT IN CAR SEATS

talked to a lawyer and the way it sounds from him is that i should just turn it into my insurace and call it good.he says it wont be cheap to go after it.on the plus side i am getting a 1ton crew to replace it.

yea just sitting there.the guy worked with us and was late, dont know if he was on the phone or what.he just got pulled over five min before for speeding and turns out his license was expired.he had 3 stories of what happened, brakes just didnt work, sliding on the ice and some other s**t i dot remember.oh and it was not his vehicle either.
that same thing literally happened to a buddy of mine. his mustang was totalled parked on a street that is literally wide enough to do 4 or 5 wide down. other guy had no insurance either so it was all on his .

good luck dude. many sorries for your loss..

Dam, sorry to hear man...looks like a solid rig.

that is the only good thing about MI's no fault insurance....no matter who's at fault your insurance will cover your loss if properly insured.

i hope you get something nice out of it man, sad to see that truck like that.

Here in California your insurance does not go up as long as the accident wasn't your fault or it was a hit and run or vandalism.
