On the way out of Tellico, last Saturday, I got a intermittent jingling sound. The wife helped me find it the next day. I ran beside the truck as she drove it down the road........... :haha:

Anyway, it is the "cover" for the yoke bearing? It's cup shaped and is dinged up a bit. Is it supposed to rotate with the yoke?

12 bolt.....

Temp fixed........... :haha: :haha: :haha:

Donald duct taped his driveshaft. :haha: :haha: :haha:

I have no idea what that "flange" is but I put a couple of dabs of JB weld to the upper end, never had a problem and still holding after 2 years. Can't say if that was the right thing to do, but I guess I'll learn something from this post too.

It's all that's holding the yoke in!!!! :eek1:

Donald, was that there before or after your "run"? I see a running joke next time we get together already happening.

The "shield/cup/thing-a-ma-jig" started makin' a sound on the way out. The next day I noticed it was bent up from the previous days wheeling. The duct tape keeps it from spinning and makin' that irritating "jingling" noise.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it! :o

The pinion cover on my 14b came loose, and was making the same sound, i just tack welded it back in place, haven't heard it since.:D

So, it just shields the bearing then, no problem with tackin' it in place?
No leaks, that I could find.

Let me know if you need something to fix it. I've got a 12 bolt out back that needs to be parted.

Kool, thanks bro.
I'm gonna try welding it in place first.
D60/14BFF on the list, but i wanna get a whole truck with the running gear in good shape, strip it for the good stuff and sell/give away the body/frame. Be next year before I have any bucks for that though.
By the way, I praticed a little with that ReadyWelder some. Ain't got it to weld purdy yet, but it burns deep and holds great. Just need to practice more, I suppose...........

You don't need full on welds all the way around it, just tack it in a few places, it'll hold just fine.

Jesse from HAD told me to get rid of the shield when I ordered up a 1410 yoke for my 14BFF. I haven't had any problems missing it...no leaks etc.
