almost all the lifts a i see are for a 73 to 87 blazer jimmy 1/2ton they will fit my truck being it is a 90 right? i now the first gen springs are different. just dont wanna spend the money and get screwed

Yes. Suspension wise your truck is the same as any of those.

i thought so i just wanted to make sure. is there any differences aside from the front clip and the tbi?

Not much. The trucks improved year to year but basically it was just GM holding the design over until the redesigned SUV's came out in '92. There's a page on the CK5 mainpage that explains all the changes year to year.

My 83 K5 has that quad set-up. Not sure if I should keep the quad set-up when I put the lift under it. Any suggestions?

It's more than likely aftermarket.

There's no reason to run more than one shock at each corner. Multiple shocks serve no other purpose than for people to say "hey dude i have 29 shocks"

It's dumb.

Quad shocks were a factory option for most of the 80's. My money's on his setup being stock. It was mainly seen with the snowplowing package. It's hard to find one up here without it.

As mentioned before it's not really needed unless you have a lot of weight up front that needs dampening. The military CUCV Blazers with the BB weight 6.2L diesel, stiff front springs, a TH400, two batteries, two BEEG alternators, brushguard, D-rings and their mounts, etc etc etc had regular single shocks on each side. Ditch the extra shock on each side and you should be fine.

The other small difference is that somewhere around 87-91 the front shackles changed. The springs on either end may also have different eye diameters in there somewhere. I'd measure yours 'fore you go ordering springs... see

http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/greasebushings.htm

for some possibilities.

The big deal is that (some of) the pickups went IFS for 87-91, so vendors can't list suspension goodies for 73-91 for *all* Chevies, so it gets confusing quickly.
