1986 3/4 ton, 6'' lift on 33s, 350 Th400 Np208, 10bolt front and 14 bolt sf rear. I dont no the gear ratio on the factory tag it says that it came with 410s. When i am giong 70 mph it runs at 3500rpm i have never had a 3 speed automatic tranny before so the rpms seem extremly high and it sucks on the fuel milage i only get about 6 1/2 mpg. Do the rpms sound about rght for the drive train setup are does anyone think that it might have had lower gears installed?

At them R's with a 6" lift just put some 35"-37" tires on it and you'll be just right:waytogo:

I havnt tried a different tack yet i have only had it for about a month. As for going with bigger tires i want to try to weight for now it had new tires on it when i bought it, and when i get new ones i would like to get some wide 38s. how much lift would i need for 38s with out cutting the fenders? I am also looking for front and rear winch bumpers.

Looks like it has 4.56's by the numbers on the calculator link.

Welcome to the site. Without cutting the fenders, you might be able to get by with the lift you have now and a 1 inch body lift from ORD or DIY4X. A lot of guys on here are more geared towards the fender cuts, and if done right it can look factory. Do a search and check out some of the other Burbs and Blazers on here and that should give yo a good start.

This is my burban with 6 inch lift and 37 inch hummer oz tires I had to trim quite a bit in the rear to clear at full stuff

th400/208/4.10/33's= 3087 rpm

th400/208/4.56/33's= 3434 rpm
:whistle::D

33" Tires measure more like 32" when loaded. I bet it has 4.10.

My truck had 4.10s and 35s. It was about 3300 at 70. He has an auto trans which would put him in the 3500 range.

Also, how accurate is the Speedo? That can throw off the numbers as well.

Thanks was consdering goint 37" MTRs on my burb with a 6" in lift. I didnt know how much trimming would be involved. I dont think my is gonna see to much action most a mall crawler. I love the look on yours and I am sold ! 37" MTRs for me!

Thanks for the compliment
Make sure you check out Trailworthyfab.com there mtr's are $95 a piece plus the ride they also do recentered H1 wheels

Can the axles i am running hold up to 38s very good? I never get around rocks. Only highway, mud, and sand. I dont have a big motor and when i swap the one out that i have it probably wont be over 350 to 400 hp. Also what is the biggest tire i could saftly run if i was to install a front locker?

Im no expert, but from what Ive read a 10 bolt wont last too long on 38s especially if off road much and adding a locker can shorten its life even more. Not too sure about the 14bsf.
Where in Texas are you located?
