Just bought an either '85 or '87 Blazer...what can I use from it on my '70 K/5?!!!

I wanted the front disc brake axle, and bought the whole parts truck for $500. Owner started a different project and assured, "The engine ran when I put it here, the tranny and transfer case are good to go and the axles are ideal. I'd love to get rid of the TH350...advice, please!!

You can use all of the parts, but the rear axle will need the spring pads moved inward some. This, of course requires cutting the old ones off and welding new ones on in the proper location with the proper pinion angle.
The front axle will bolt in, but I would check the gear ratios in your existing axles and the newer ones to decide which set to use. Because you may want to keep the original rear axle for the ratio. Or maybe you can't move the spring pads on the axle housing.
If you keep the rear axle and the newer axle has a different ratio, you will need to take both axles apart all the way to the knuckles to swap the disc brakes stuff over. At least I believe that the ball joints are the same on those 2 axles. Your '70 should be an open knuckle D44.

The transmission and transfer case will swap, but the newer aluminum one, probably an NP208, won't clear the floor of your '70 in stock form.

You are welcome!
The best way to make the 208 fit, is to raise the floor up about an inch or so, behind the bolt in transmission tunnel.
If you don't want to cut and weld sheetmetal, a 1" body lift from ORD may get you close. This would mean that you need to work on the fan shroud, transmission shifter linkage and bumper height possibly. You will have to do something with the transfer case shifter no matter which case you use if you gonwith the 700R4.

Your NP205 will bolt up to the 700R4 by either using a spacer between the adapter and the transmission with a trim of the transmission tailshaft, OR you will need to swap the output shaft in the transmission to the short, adapter version. Either way, you will need to do driveshaft work to use the 205 behind the 700R4. If the shafts hooked to the 208 are in good shape, they may work in the older truck.

This swap isn't super difficult, but it does have a few issues that would need to be dealt with.

I did the NP205 with a spacer in my '70,
We did a NP241 with a 700R4 and raised the floor in my son's '72.

I don't know about '67-'72 trucks, but on '73-'87('91) trucks, the bumper lines up just fine with a 1" body lift. No need to change anything.

From what I see on my trucks, I believe it would depend on how tight they are to the body. The stock front bumper wraps over the lower part of the grill and fender. It looks to me that they would hit.
If he has more room, or aftermarket bumpers, probably nothing to worry about.

Sure thing! Just don't expect anything to be different in a couple of weeks!

My speed on my own projects has slowed to a glacial pace anymore. Terrible..
