Well I finally pulled the trigger on buying a tube bender. I went ahead and ordered a JD2 model 32 manual bender. With a 1.5" and 2" die.

Shew those dies really hit you right in the pocket lol

I'm not building a super hardcore off roader by any means, but do you guys think if I kinda add some extra supports to my cage 1.5 .120 tube would hold up.

I know 1.75" is ideal and 2" is really strong

Actually 2" is much better for our rigs. They be heavy. Using 1.5 supports should be fine

I actually meant building the whole cage of 1.5" .120. I just thought it'd be strong enough and small enough diameter to kinda hide.

Idk would 1.5" .120 just crumple in a roll over

It wouldn't crumple but you build cages for worst case scenarios not best case. 1.5 would be fine in a mild low speed roll. It would bend in anything more.

Okay thanks, I'm just trying to think realistically. I know I'm not gonna hit any hardcore trails or even really get that crazy but I do want the security and structure of a cage.

I have built and (unfortunately) tested my own cage and build several other for folks that have tested them:D. 2" is what I would do in a full bodied pickup or blazer 1.75 is alright in a stripped down or one thats been modded to be lighter. 1.5" is reserved for samurai, very small buggies and bracing

Ahh alright my blazer is a fully loaded down blazer, interior, tools, parts etc... Guess I'll try to figure out how to fit 2" tube cage tightly in my K5 then
