Just curious when doing a 14 bolt FF swap is it ok to keep old master cylinder or should it be upgraded to bigger? Just a random thought...

I kept my factory 72 master cylinder. Never had any issues.

@6872xtc has it now. I don't think he's killed a bus full of nuns yet

I kept same one on mine just something that crossed my mind driving to work.

Brake cylinder is the same approx size

Long term, I'd upgrade when it fails

I did a 14FF with disc on a '90 K5 for a buddy, and he is still running the factory master after 3+ years.
And yes the old '72 still has the factory one.

I've always had the Blazer master cylinder on mine with a D60/14 bolt w/discs, brakes have always worked great

If you're keeping drums you should be good. If you're swapping to disks out back, you may want to change the MC.

Mine works fine with the drums and also when I upgraded to disk. I just gutted the rear portion of the master cylinder when I went disk. Works fine for me. No problems.
