I had a '75 2wd Blazer,it had the same "K5" badges as my 4x4 ones from the factory..
I never understood that either..if its NOT a 4x4why do the fenders have a "K5" emblem--but the VIN # had a "C" at the digit that indicated 2 or 4wd!..
I should have kept that Blazer too--got it for 150 bucks, had a lot of floor rustthat some dweeb patched with aluminum roof flashing..I re-did the floors with 16 ga. metal and patched the door bottoms and put repair panels over the rear wheel arches..it had a 250 "camel humper" straight 6 ,the integrated head version, but with a 1 barrel carb..three speed standard shift too!..when a friend was junking his '74 Vega, that had a Saginaw 4 speed,I took it and found it was a bolt in swap for the original Tremec 3 speed..

...I put a 307 V8 with a 2 bbl carb from my rotted '72 K10 Suburban I had at the time in it after the head gasket blew on the six--that thing leaped off the line like a bullfrog, with 4.10's in the rear end,and the low forst gear in that Vega tranny..it did surprisingly well off road for a 2wd truck too--had big Concorde "Deserters" on it ..
I had a chance to buy a '72 Blazer 2wd too--I remember being disgusted after driving 25 miles to go look at it ,was looking for parts trucks--it was advertised as a "K5:" in the classifieds, and when I got there and saw A-frames under the front,I was like Awwww.mann!..so I drove off without even getting out to look it over..later on I found out they only made a few thousand 72's in 2wd,and they are highly collectible..another guy I knew I told about it went and snagged it up for 150 bucks, and made a nice "cruise night" low rider out of it--he put sheet metal over the side windows to make it into a "panel"..I wanted to kick myself every time I saw him at the car shows with it...
