Crossover steering changes your steering from the stock push/pull which sucks offroad. The draglink goes from the gearbox to the pass-side knuckle rather than the driver-side.

High steer is just like crossover, except the tie-rod is now mounted to arms on top of the knuckles. The tie-rod will now be above your leaf springs.

There are a ton of places to get the pass side arm, ORD, NWF, Blue torch fabworks, ballistic fabrication, poison spyder customs, just to name a few. If you have hi-steer you also need a driver's side arm.

Most people use tres for the draglink (crossover rod) but some use heims. For example my draglink will have a tre on the pitman arm end and a heim on the steering arm end, because my arm was custom made by my brother's machinist friend

how does cross over connect to passenger side arm b/c the bar that goes from knuckle to knuckle is in the passenger side mount hole? any really good threads? is it in the tech articles....i guess i can look at tech articles....but do you know any good threads?

ok here ya go, this is crossover steer (not high steer)

You see that arm on top of the pass-side knuckle? thats where the draglink connects

here's high-steer

This one is a little different than most you will see, because ORD has mounted a gearbox on the inside of the frame.

ok i found the tech article on crossover...it uses an arm on top of the knuckle....does crossover and high steer use the same pass. side arm? that way i could go crossover then save for drivers side arm....the tech artical shows drag link above spring from sector to top pass. arm, but the tie rod is below them, on a hi steer are both of these above the springs...or is the tech article called crossover, but is in fact a hi steer set up?

i see the high steer has a place to mount 2 tre's and drivers side arm, can i use the highsteer arm for crossover, save for drivers side arm and then do that.....thanks for pics, sorry for last post i was writing while you put pics up and didn't see them until i told it to post

it also uses a aftermarket cross member...is that manditory?

I don't know about all manufacturers but with ORD, they only sell one style arm for the pass-side. It will work for hi-steer or regular, then when u are ready to convert to hi-steer, you get the driver's side arm and a new tie-rod with tre's.

Depending on the amount of lift you have will tell you if you need the aftermarket engine crossmember. 4" or more and you should be ok without it.
