As soon as the I get the starter back. I want to put this truck on the road. I am going to change all the fluids as well as new filters. put new spark plugs in. Clean the carb. Other then that what should be done?

thanks mike

Has it been running recently ? If not put a little Marvel Mystery oil down the plug holes , pre oil with preoiler ( can make from disrtibutor with no gear on bottom and a tack welded rod to chuck in drill on top ) , or at least pour some oil down in both valve covers when you change it ( use the pcv for the other one with a skinny funnel ) I would do more than plugs , I would do the whole ignition system with lifetime warranty plug wire and coil , new module too . I would get new belts and hoses . Even if what you have looks allright , it would be better to take what works now and put in the truck as spares , and have all new stuff on engine for piece of mind /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Yea, its been running. I want to make it solid so i can start driving it. Belts, hoses, P/S pump and a new rad are in the works. thanks

Why do you need to put oil in if it has been sitting? I thought that would happen when you start up?

That was if it had been sitting awhile . If it had been running , just spruce her up and save the good stuff as trailspares , and get out there and use it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
