just installed crossover...

I just got done installing my crossover steering kit from ORD and I am having a couple of issues with it. I feel like my 88 k5 is pushing the front end hard when making turns and there seems to be a little bit of bump steer. Also, I dont think that my steering pump is bled all of the way. what is the proper technique for doing so? I turned lock to lock many times with the blazer running and added more fluid but i still have that whining and not full steering power. thanks for the advice.

I have also considered that I have my drag link ends too tight which may be contributing to my problem. This is a great set up tho once i get it dialed in.

blead the pump off first till all air out. and wheels off ground same time.

doing it running will get TONS of air in the fluid .

I agree, wheels up lock to lock multiple times. And if you have swapped the booster to hydroboost you need to depress the pedal several times to get any air out of it that may have worked its way in. I think the 'bumpsteer' you may be feeling is actually just some air in the system sorta 'kicking back' at you.

Also what kind of fluid are you running? I know I ran ATF as pwr steering fluid (hey alot of people say you can) and it seemed to aerate a lot worse than the ps fluid did when I did all my swapping around.

Gotcha and i am running power steering fluid. something still feels just a little off so i am going to have to mess with it some more. I feel like my geometry is not quite right even though I did not take off my tie rod when i did the swap. But hey, new kingpin springs and bushings along with crossover cured my death wobble I had to weld on some big ole washers on my front spring mount cause the bolt holes were rounded out so bad from it
