Just one more reason why 10 bolts rule!

napa sells them in whatever length you need.in two weeks you coulda had a machine shop make you some and still came out a lot cheaper.i just got some american racing 8 lug 16x8 inch rims for 178 dollars.shipped and with tax included.so unless you are into having a purdy trailer queen then id go with full 8 lug setup.you'll have better brakeing power and the stregth of 8 lugs and the studs are also thicker on the 8 lug setup. so much more strength.im changing mine over in a couple of weeks.just some food for thought. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

A one ton 14FF won't "bolt right up", so the mechanics may be right if that is what you told them (1 ton 14FF), but a 3/4 14 FF rear will bolt right up (may have to jury rig the parking brake, but others have done it...just do a search). The axles (1 ton 14FF and 3/4 ton 14FF) are identicle as far as housings and pumpkins, but the backing plates, drums, spring perch locations, and shock mount locations are different. You can use a 1 ton 14FF as you will have the larger drums for better braking, but you will have to relocate the spring perches, relocated the shock mounts, and as with a 3/4 ton 14FF figure out how to hook up the parking brake cables.

I went to NAPA, they didnt have anything except the rears. hmm, Maybe i can sell my dad my wheels and front axle for his 1st Gen. If he takes that i will definetaly go 8 lug.
