Just picked up a new expedition. Can I safely tow a K5?

It's a 2010 Eddie Bauer with the HD towing package rated at 9200lbs. I don't own a trailer, but since there really isn't much off roading to do down here in south Florida, I thought it might be nice to have the ability to tow the k5 safely.

Is a 9200lb rating enough?

I would say only with weight distribution, sway bar setup, and a very carefully loaded trailer with just the right tongue weight, but I think you'll be pushing it. Local would be fine but I would be worried about burning the life up of the truck doing to many long trips.

I have an 06 Expedition and it pulls 5500# just fine, and it's not rated like your 10 model is. You don't have any hills down there to worry about, unless you head up North.

Make a tow bar to bolt to your frame and get some cheap tires you can run 40# of air in and tow away.
