ive seen some on the firewall as well, just wondering what this stuff means? im guessing the yellow is a part number for the rail cause the other side is stamped with 1407631. only the passenger rail has any yellow on it. thanks guys!

I like seeing frames like this. My K30 looks like this but the numbers have finally worn off. Still lots of paint in other areas though.
My dad's Ford has similar markings on hardparts... I'd say you're right in thinking they're just original serial/part numbers from the factory...

my 68 swb c10 still has the paint pencil markings on the firewall, come to find out it is put on the cab at beginnig of assmbly line telling what options to install... beside this alpha/numeric code its clearly marked A/C
