K&W block sealer

I have a freebie 90 model Subaru Legacy wagon that I'm wantin to make a DD,but it is overheatin at hw speeds.The PO has already put a new rad and water pump on it but it still got hot,long story short it's mine now.

It is puttin comp in the rad,but not steamin out the tailpipe or mixed fluids.I have found a used engine for it but hate to spend the cash/time changin it and not know the cond of the rest of it (it's AWD).

I am wantin to try a can of the K&W block sealer on it to buy a little time to check it out.So has anybody used it before and what was the results???

Yeah I know it's just a bandaid.

I don't think it will help. I assume by "comp in the rad" you mean compression gasses. If so, I would do a compression check and fix a blown head gasket.

yeah it bubbles when you take the cap off.

Is that the stuff in the bright green bottle and says it has "nanotechnology"? It actually has worked on a few cars before. One lasted for a couple years before the owner finally sold the car.

Really, what do you have to lose?

I do remember hearing that those Subi motors are known for head gasket problems.

It has 200K on it so it's not like it's a good lo-mileage engine.I really think it's a cracked block and not a hg.

You said no mixed fluids, that doesn't indicate a cracked block, but it does suggest a blown head gasket. A cracked block will leak into the oil or will leak external.
