Hi I just got a 83 k20 with a 454 ,465,208,14bt,44, an what I'm thinking about doing is swapping in a 60 , I have 79 ford 60 should I use it an swap the 208 for a drivers drop 241 that I have or trade my 60 for a Chevy an just ez swap the axle?

that ford is a high pinion right....I would go with that and swap the t/c but then you will probably need crossover steering too?

only thing to make that combo better is gm outer knuckle parts for stronger knuckles and spindles.

good swap and gets you high pinion and as you said swap the tcase and be good.

little steering mod and shock tabs and suck but basic bolt in .

Yea it is hp but I'm not going to be going bigger then a 6" with 35s so not too worried about having a hp I have everything I need high steer arms drag link tie rod 2wd box, only thing is I believe?? Not sure but wouldn't i have to buy the 500$ adaptor to run the 241 with the 465

I'll trade yah the Ferd for a GM60?? Just need to find a 465/241 adapter that came factory in 88-up trucks...

Well I have someone with a Chevy 60 kinda wondering if its worth it??took me a while to find my ford 60 an I do like the hp an i do already have the case just not sure if I should just skip trying to find or buying a new adaptor

From what I hear the ford hp 60s are much more sought after. So I would keep it if I was you and find the adaptor.

I'd keep the hp 60 and slap a chevy 60 in.

Like Adam said the hp is harder to find, I'd keep it and s.a.s something with it being you have to make different mounts. IMO

I have a '79 Ford 60 under my Chevy wheeler and I love it. HP is nice for the better d-shaft angle/clearance on rocks plus the reverse cut gears are stronger.

I'd swap for the GM and just put it in rather than a whole lot of monkeying around for such a minimal benefit that will likely never matter.

Thats the thing though, it's really not that bad. Like martin suggested above with his question in this case it even uses the same adapter. 241's and 208's use the same one.

if you swap axles YOU NEED MONEY back on the deal. the ford is worth more than gm axle.

if your just lacing adaptor for tcase i would do that. keep the ford axle since you got most every other item.
