So my forward drag link is all torn to pieces from the 36x12.5 tires on stock 16.5 wheels rubbing the hell out of them. I've fixed the rubbing but I still need to fix the drag link.

All of the parts stores and such want to either go by what the drag link ends attach to or their length. I'm looking for the forward (towards the front bumper) end. They always ask if it's 6.something inches or 8.something inches or whichever part it's attached to.

Can anyone clue me in on this? I'm confusded here...

Oh yeah, anyone used the Spicer Premium brand drag link ends? I can get them online for less than the local place wants for the NAPA brand.

If you're talking about the rubber boots being torn up, you have two choices: get some polyurethane ones from a company like Energy Suspension, etc., or buy new drag link ends from your local parts store. Parts stores do not sell the boots separately from the link ends.

That's what I need, the forward end. Sorry if I was unclear.

I just need to know WHICH end to buy. The 6.3" one or the 8.3" one.

(Before you ask I tweaked my back last week and the wife is away this weekend. If I lay down in the garage under Big Ugly I might get stuck there until she's home tomorrow. A couple more bone twister visits next week and I should be A-OK.)

Okay, just measured mine on my K30.

The one that is forward (and thus in the way of too large of tires) is 6.x inches. The one that is rearward (connects to steering knuckle) is 8.x inches.
