k30 info needed...

oh my bad.....did i say 44's? i meant 54's....lol.

does anyone know what the wheelbase is on a crew cab?

later, todd

p.s....brad, you know that 2002 chevy with 44's here in town? i found out that he paid $21,500 for the lift, tires, shocks, rims, etc. thats crazy!!!! i wonder if it came with the vaseline or if they just gave him some tissues for the blood ....lol.

skyjacker has 56 inch 8 inch lift springs, and superlift has 6 inchers, it would seem superlift would try to make some 56 inchers to go with its taller kits (DUHHHH)

WAAAAAIIIIIIT a minute....Skyjacker now finally have 8" rear 56" springs?!?!?!?! Last I knew, they only offered 6" maximum for 56".

got my info off of rocky mountain suspension website, no first hand knowledge, just believing what i read /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know the 8" rear springs were available in the 52", but not in 56".
I will go check out the Skyjacker site and see what they show. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i tried the skyjacker site to confirm, ran out of patience, got the info from here www.rockymountainsusp.com

depends on when the skyjacker site was updated, i guess a call when they are open will verify, but it seems really asinine of superlift to offer their lifts of 8, 10 or 12 without anything for 56 inch springs when if they were as knowledgeable as they think they would realize lots of people start off with a heavy duty truck to beef, instead of beefing a light duty, reckon we should bombard them with emails /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

well, i just went back and looked, it doesn't actually say they are 8 inch springs, they could be 6 inchers and a 2 inch block, look at the site and you will see what i mean /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

well did you get it for the 2000.00 ???

inquiring minds want to know ;-)
if ya did congradulations !!
i see your getting lots of great advice here i want to only add
2 things my concerns 4 you are this damn california smog regulations unless you hae a hoook up to by pass them DONT TELL the smog place or dmv about the late model motor in it or they will make you pass what ever year motor you have in it regulations you understand ???
and # 2 you know with a 1980 you have to cut the firewall to update tothe 89-91 front end right???
and i guess #3 you know it is not cheep to do what you want to do have you honestly sat down and crunched the $$ nu's reallistically tires $$ lift $$ crossover $$ etc etec etc etc
not to scare ya but and if you decide to pass or cant find the $$ i even give ya a finder'sfee to pass the deal on over to me
/forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif i am laughing but i am serious also

Some time back, before I was registered on CK5, I called Skyjacker and practically begged them to make some 8" rear springs in the 56" long versions.
They said, "No." Just didn't have enough demand for them. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif Little did they know what they were up to...look at todays world. There are literally thousands of 56" rear spring equipped trucks that the owners wished someone would make 8" rear springs in this length. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

BTW, If someone were to combine Superlift 12" front springs with Skyjacker 6" or even 8" rear springs, that would be a crappy ride since the Superlifts are a firmer riding spring than the softride Skyjackers. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

wes you are right, i did some calling and checking today, "no sir, you have to use a 6 inch spring and block"

WTF, is up with these people?? with all the surplus m1008 and variants coming on the market, and all, you think someone would pull their head of rectal insertion and make these, also you are right about the ride, i had a 72 with the 8 inch skyjackers front and rear and the ride was surprisingly good /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I had an '86 K20 once and installed the Skyjacker 8" front and rear springs on it. I had to remove the rivets and move the rear hangers forward 4" as the holes were already in the frame rails for them. Just got new grade 8 bolts and moved them forward.
The 8" rode ok, but not that great. Sold this truck and also the spring to Blzr4x4ngkid in Wichita whom installed them on his Blazer. I have pics of it somewhere.

Anyways, I would like to see 8" Skyjackers in the 56" long springs, too. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

no i havent got it for $2000 yet.
i called the guy and i think he might be out of town this weekend.

im going to offer $1800 cash. if not ill give him the $2000.

as for how much it will cost....i realize it wont be cheap.
i dont know if youve seen my 72 or not, but that wasnt exactly cheap either....lol.

i will put a non-op on it and not register it until its completed.

later, todd

i just talked to the guy and he will sell it for $1800 cash, so im getting the K35 tomarrow!!!!

cant wait to park that thing in my driveway.....lol. then alot of hard, time consuming work starts.

so does anyone sell a 12"lift for the 1 tons?
are the 1 ton springs way different than the 3/4 tons?

thanks, todd
