Yup! Chevy/GMC put 292 I-6's in K30's. Can't say I've ever seen one, And the only 3/4 ton with the 292 I've ever seen is in my back yard

. I'd snach that puppy up right away!! The drivetrain alone in good condition is worth 2-3000 depending upon where you get it. and if it has some desent body panels, You can make some more dough by parting it out. (If you don't make it into a tow rig or something) If it does have a Sm-465 it will be hooked to the NP-205 to answer your other question.

GM did some odd things over the years. A friend of mine has a 4.3 liter GM V6 in an old Jeep. The wierd thing is that it has a QuadraJet sitting on top of it! Seems like way too much carb for a 4.3, but it's totally stock. He said it came out of a full size GM truck.

It's a great day to be alive...

Lots of Astro Vans came with the 4.3/quad setup to.

As for 2-3000, worth of drivetrain, thats stretching it a tad.

D60, $1000
14 bolt, $125
292, $100
465, $150
205, $250
Total = 1625

Pontiac also put Q-Jets on 231 V-6s.

Is that the 3.8 Buick you're referring too? Seen lots of those w/Q-jets (w/and w/out turbos).

Yeah, 231, 3.8, or the latest, 3800. Take your pick.

The construction company I used to work for during the summers had a couple of extened wheelbase (they had about 12' long flatbeds) 1-ton Chevy trucks with the I-6, they also had some Ford F-350's with I-6's also. They were actually okay for local commuting in town and the work site because of the granny low 4-speeds and low axle ratios......just don't expect to pass anyone on the road or get anywhere fast!
