Finally getting truck back together after several months and a motor swap. Obviously I did not label things well. Confused at two switches on top of tranny. One I could figure out. the other I cannot and it looks like the plug/switch is broken. Can someone get me back on track. For some reason I cannot import photos

Should be an sm465. And as far as I'm aware there is only a reverse light plug on it.

There may or may not be a 4wd switch for the (factory) tcase

On the bolt closest to the gas pedal, that's the reverse wiring. Green wire and a black wire

These are right next to each other on the top by the shifter. It is a four speed
I guess I have to pay $25 to post my photos

Photos. bottom photo shows broken plug top photo is (i think) where broken plug is supposed to go

Well that port would tell it its in 4th...

I didn't state that exactly.
I wondered if it was a trigger for a factory speed warning.
I don't know what the electrical system was like for it, and I don't know if it was still an option in '72. I parted a '68 suburban decades ago that had it. I didn't know enough then to dig into it farther.

So is the transmission original to the truck, and does it list speed warning on the inside of the glove box?
I have heard that some '72s got a rare cruise control, I have never seen one, or have any idea why it would care it it was in 4th.
