I have a 1985 K5 that i am rebuilding. I have questions about the suspension system. I put a 3 inch body lift on it, new shocks and as I was working on it i noticed the entire rubber bushings on the suspension system are rotted out. Where should I start. So how difficult is it to change them ALL out and where/what type replacements should I buy..

Are the greasable bolts for wear or do they help with other things?

They can help with wear, but I like them mostly to prevent squeaks.

They suck to do, I used a drill with a large bit and drilled the rubber out, then used a chisel and pounded the rest out. So much fun, all because the someone left the torch on and it leaked all the gas out.

You can get both sets of the bushings from energy suspension for 50 bucks. The ord ones are nice too. I did the bigger bolts and shackle kit they have. Step up in bolt size and thicker shackle helps with better strength. Comes with new bushings for the front shackle. They have those too though. They can put something together for ya. Just gotta tell them what you got.
