Just wondering if anyone out there can give me a hand I’m having four-wheel-drive problems it’s not engaging ?
if you put the truck on jackstands with all four tires in the air all four tires spin once you put the truck back on the ground loaded it wants to drag the tires?
I put a new t case new warn hubs and New front drive shaft
if anyone can help me out that would be great thank you

You said hubs, so presumably not IFS. What year and transfer case

I’m going to make an assumption here that when you got this truck the previous owner put larger tires on it. In doing so, they probably changed the gears in the rear to accommodate for the larger tire size, but then either cheaped out or put on a to-do list to change the front gears. You need to pull the covers on both the front and rear differentials and see what the gear ratios are. They should be stamped somewhere on the ring gear.

It’s a 1981K5 Jimmy and the transfer case is a 208 c2 not sure what year the transfer case is but it has no problems shifting
Picked it up at a boneyard and he said it was a good t case. I just pulled the front diff cover and the pinion bearing seems loose and it’s leaking oil from the yolk
Thanks for the response

When you say the fronts drag, do you mean when driving in a straight line it appears the front and rear tires are going different speeds. This would probably cause the whole truck to bind up and not move, especially on pavement. Or maybe you are getting some binding and hopping when turning on pavement or dry ground? That would be normal. To be honest saying that the front tires appear to be dragging can mean different things to different people.

To check the gears you can jack all 4 tires off the ground, put the transfer case in 4wd and transmission in neutral, mark all the tires (something like a chalk line or piece of tape pointing in the same direction and place on the tires), then spin the driveshaft by hand so the tires all rotate once and see if the marks on the tires are still all lined up.

Yes check to make sure each axle has the same gear ratio. This will be marked on each ring gear. Or by counting teeth on each gear.
It sounds like you may have to different gear ratios. Or may the front diff is locked, this will cause tires to scuff when turning on hard surfaces
