What are some good shock packages out there for our old trucks. I am used to the Rancho RS5000 stuff, all though it improvement I don't believe it to be all that

Beating a dead Horse. Bilstein 5100 from Off Road Design enough said. You can go cheap or buy a decent set like these and be done.
I've had generic, had cheap, and I now have Bilsteins. Love 'em. They are a bit soft with my ORD front custom springs, but are dead on in the rear with new stock replacements.
On stock or stiff aftermarket lift springs I think they'd be perfect.

Is it worth upgrading the front to have the dual shocks or is this more of a gimic
One good shock.

Pure gimmick! 1 and be done
Shocks have vastly improved since our trucks were made. A single modern shock will be fine.
