K5 Blazer 2wd to 4wd

whats with all the 73-87 2wds are gold mine talk?
They are pretty much worthless, look around they really don't sell well as there is no market for them, seems like people like other people to own them.

I have a 2wd that I'm thinking of converting, they aren't worth crap around here and the best beat up 4x4 I can find is going for 3x what my 2wd would. ...

Well my reasons are:
A. They didn't make to many of them so it is an odity.
B. Better mileage for just running around.
C. Same feel as my 4x4 except it is 2x4 see B.
D. Just like a pick up but you have a back seat, no I don't want a burb.
E. It is a two door station wagon.

You know by now from all the reply's that 2wd's are rare, your better off selling it on CL or ebay for that matter cuz it may take a wider range of advertising to sell and may take a little longer than a normal 4x Blazer. But you can make some extra cash and buy a decent body blazer with crap running gear and swap the burb gear in it. Thats what i would do. Good luck.

Today I drove by a long stepside C10 sitting in a pasture and Saturday a 2wd K5.

Its not easy to see much less get pics of and I'm not one to venture onto other peoples property.

i almost bought a factory 78 longbed stepside, radio delete, manual brakes manual steering, 305 2 barrel. basically only option was a 305 v8 and an automatic. I used to see it sitting in a trailer park, but wasnt worth what the guy wanted, buddy ended up with it then sold it to a kid who promtly wrecked it the same week lol.

Ummmmm......what did I do?? He basicly asked how you would go about doing the swap.........I was just giving him the information he was after.

BTW if anyone is wanting one, search around the various Oregon Craigslist, saw a few 2wd Blazers on there......one was like $900.

Here we are trying to convince this guy to keep a 2wd Blazer as it is, and here you go telling him just the opposite. All in good fun though.:D

2wd trucks have their place. Perfect tow rigs. Why waste the money and towing capacity on a 4x4 when its never going to leave the road?

what if your towing off road?? ever think of that? like towing to a secluded wheelin spot or camp ground? or pismo. good luck getting to the dunes in 2wd with a trailer on the back.

I really miss my old 2wd Blazer. It was roomy, drove VERY nice, was easy to load stuff in the back, and didn't suck as much gas (had the 250 though). It was still pretty good in the snow too with the 32 inch AT's that were on it.
