i am doing a 1.5" aluminum puck body lift on a 80's k5 blazer . the tail gate springs are up in to the bumper and i think there limiting my body lift from going in the back 2 sets of body bushing locations .

what have you guys done to solve this problem ?

I took mine off with just a 1" body lift after we learned on @500$k5 truck.
Yea, you can tell a difference, especially because of the truck was higher up too, however we were both ditching the factory bumper and trimming the frame off to tuck the bumper in closer.

This is probably not what you want to hear though.

oh i dont care . he wants body lift and make it work . i also dont see a way around it . time to figure out how to remove them i guess :1zhelp::thinking::doah:

Is he going to keep the stock bumper? I don't know of any way to raise it all, and move the spring catch bolts up. You could cut the ends of the frame off and move them up, but I believe that the bumper brackets will not play well.
How about a custom bumper which moves the catch bolts up?
I know that you and he may not need more work to do, but would that be an option?

I ditched mine and gutted the tailgate to drop the weight, I want to just pick up a truck tailgate

i think he be fine with out . . . or i could build a bumper . but this blazer is a ex-cucv with all the military stuff still on the back end .

When my Blazer belonged to its previous owner I put a 3" body lift on it and just removed the springs altogether.

Note; the cargo area body bolts were tack welded to the floor from the factory, a surprising PITA.
