I have an 1985/1986 M1009 K5, and the military fiberglass shell isn't in great shape. (fiberglass coming apart on roof. I've been trying body filler to get it stable, but results so far have been meh)

As a backup option, anyone know compatible rear shells / soft tops for the K5? I've seen some soft options floating around, but they all cost an arm and a leg. Any bed compatibility with the C10? (The more options the better)

Thanks!

Short bed pick ups are roughly 12” longer so a camper shell won’t work. Blazer tops are crazy plentiful, I would think you could easily find a cheap one.

Fiberglass repair is easy and cheap, get the right products though not body fillers.
I have done plenty of repairs on the hood of my freightliner but I am no expert.
Maybe @ryoken can chime in

I'm guessing you had hair showing, dried out.... you need to resaturate that with resin... not a bondo... grind the area, than take polyester resin (any auto parts store will have it in qrts) and thin it a bit with laquer thinner, take a chip brush and thoroughly dab/wet it and try to work the resin down in.. the thinner you make it, the more it saturates... than come back in with a DA with 80, smooth that out, than skim with a light filler if needed like Rage, etc..

Wonder how much a big ol blanket of carbon fiber would cost. Completely rolled out on a top. That would look bad assed.

tops? you run a top??
I always see plenty of used tops around. Maybe find one in better shape? same top from 75-91.
