my floorboards are completely gone, the outter body is great, just everything you cant see is rusted....2x4 wood blocks keep the seat from going through the floorboard (what little there is)....so here is my 2 options 1. cut out about 60% of the existing floor and replace it (what fun would that be to put it back stock) or 2. take the body completely off and build a buggy....i can get a 12-14 point cage kit from Autoweld for about 400 bucks or so already prebent just needs trimmed and fitted, then go from there building everything else i need, like my fuel cell cage and mounts, floor and seat mounts (going to be 4 bucket seats), boat sides, and all that other jazz......what should i use as material on the floors and boat sides, the sides dont have to be removeable but the flooring does cause i want to be able to get in and work on the engine and tranny, im thinking something thick but not insanely heavy to help keep the weight CG lower, the truck is going to be on 1 ton axles and for now im going to keep the leaf sprung suspension but i am going to cross-over steering.....

so what do you guys think????

here is a k5 based buggy, shortened frame in the middle, just leafs up front and all business in the back.. for gages and switches I used prewired panels from quick car to simplify things. Good luck

the problem with those is that they are 2 seaters.....mines got to be 4 seater cause when i go i usually take more than 1 person plus im 6'4 and 330lbs and need all the room i can get......my cage is going to look more like this:

im going to have my sides done like this one except im going to have metal covering the tube so nothing can come through and get me:

something like this one except on a factory frame and with the door bars above:

im at the same crossroads. just tired of being so wide...

i want mine just a little slimmer than factory metal width.....

mine is only 48 inches wide..my seats touch each other and the outer tubes. I love blazers but they sure loose the look when you take them places they dont want to fit:crazy:

i couldnt fit in that, especially since my father goes with me alot and he is a big guy like me also......same with most of my friends too.....
